Agreement to terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Mic Test (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
The service
Mic Test provides a free browser-based microphone test, including live input visualization and optional short recording playback where your browser supports it. Results depend on your device, operating system, browser, permissions, and hardware. The tool is offered as a practical helper, not a professional audio laboratory, calibration service, hearing test, or medical device.
Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Site. If you use the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for granting or denying microphone permission, selecting the correct input device, and complying with applicable laws when using recording features. Do not use the tool to record others without appropriate consent. You agree not to misuse the Site, attempt to disrupt it, or use it for unlawful purposes.
Intellectual property
The Site’s design, text, graphics, logos, and software (excluding third-party components and your own recordings) are owned by Mic Test or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Site’s content without prior written permission, except as allowed by law.
Advertising
The Site may display third-party advertisements, including ads served by Google AdSense or similar networks. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or for products or services offered by advertisers. Advertising-related data practices are described in our Privacy Policy.
No warranties
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that every microphone, browser, or platform will be detected or that measurements will match professional equipment.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mic Test and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Site, including missed calls, failed recordings, or hardware issues. Our total liability for any claim related to the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid us to use the Site in the twelve months preceding the claim (which is typically zero for free use).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mic Test and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Site or violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites or services. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
